The circular flowerbeds in the gardens are exactly like the one my grandparents had. I remember Grandma being delighted to find some rope edging for her flower bed, and that she always had some of those flowers in it. Perhaps she was remembering flowerbeds of her younger days.

This is amusing. Daughter wants to be a hipster. Apparently her grandma was a retro-hipster. Who knew my mum would ime back i to fashion? Its a pity she didnt live long enough to see it. On a side note: when i was daughter’s age, my favourite coat was my grandma’s 1930s fake fur. She was very happy to see me get several years of wear out of it, but didnt realise I was wearing it ironically. I called it Boris.
